Devlog 3: Prototyping Update


Heya pizza lovers,

This week we mainly worked on our prototype to make sure we have all of our main mechanics in there.
We made the movement a lot smoother so the driving is way more controllable right now than it was last week. 



We made some new Power-ups such as the tomato. You can now throw a tomato at your oponent to block his vision for a few seconds.



We then made two traps that will block the road after you bumped into them. The trashcan lets out trash on the road (the green box), and the fire hydrant lets out water (the blue box).  The trash slows you down when you drive through it. The water on the other hand speeds you up and pushes you in the opposite direction of the fire hydrant.

We also generated a new city in Houdini. To get the feel of how it would feel to drive around in that city.



We also made a minimap to show where everyone is on the map, where the pizzas need to be picked up and the destination of the house.




We also worked some more on the Game Design Document. We added some more images to illustrate how the game works and also for the HUD.

For the HUD we especially made it clear where everything would go. You can now see where the power-ups would go, the speed meter, the money, the added money and the minimap! We tried to make it visually as clear as possible so there didn't need to be any additional text on there.


Every power up has a specific pop up. So we already made a first tryout of how those popups would look like when the player uses them.
