Devlog 8: Destruction, particles and gameplay
Hiya pizza loverss!
We're back with a new weekly Speedzza update!
Art
This week we finished all of our models, and everything new that needed to be made for our game.
We made a barricade which we thought would be still fun to run over or drive against to give that extra chaos feel.
We also made a prefab for our trash for how it would look like when a player drives against it. So it lays out a path of trash which will slow you down, and makes it an obstacle for the players.
Next to those, we worked on asset destruction, for which we made following props using Unity's probuilder tool in combination with maya:
As for the UI, we made sure that we already have all of the icons we're going to be needing for our game so they can be implemented and scripted by our programmers. We may still update the look of the UI during the next coming weeks, but now we definitely have all of the icons we're going to be using in the game.
Then we made the base for the UI inside of Unity so the programmers would only have to spend time to make the UI working.
We also made all of the particles we will be needing in our game such as:
The destruction smoke particle
The explosion particle
Particle for when players bump into each other.
Basic Water particle for hydrant
Pick up particle
Programming
For programming this week we made a lot of progress! We now have a fully playable game with a rounds system.
